Council for the Arts of Herndon Seeks Volunteers for Herndon Festival
Do you like arts & crafts? Do you like working with kids? If so, volunteer to help children make (free) arts and craft at the Children's Hands On Art Area at the Herndon Festival!
The Council for the Arts of Herndon sponsors and produces the Children's Hands On Art Area at the Herndon Festival each year. Children of all ages can enjoy many free art & craft activities including miniature trains, brass rubbings, Chinese calligraphy, bookmarks, hackysacks and more! This year’s celebration will feature activities from Volkswagen, Wee Play, SCORE, Children’s Museum of Northern Virginia, Herndon High School Art Club and Fairfax County Dept. of Family Services - Foster Care & Adoption Program.
The event takes place on the large lawn in front of the Old Town Hall in downtown historic Herndon. All of the arts & crafts are free to the public and the Council for the Arts of Herndon provides all materials.
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 31 from 10 - 5 pm and Sunday, June 1 from 12-5 pm. Volunteer shifts are two hours long and often scout troops, youth or church groups volunteer together. This is a fun event to work and to attend! Depending on the event, volunteers will receive: free admission, passes for paid events and concerts, T shirts, food vouchers, volunteer hour credits, pizza gift cards, lots of gratitude and fun!
To volunteer, please call Grace Wolf at 703.689.9535 or email council4thearts@aol.com or for more information visit the official Herndon Festival website, at www.herndonfestival.net.
